Community Gardeners: Time to Apply for Grant

In keeping with the Windsor Garden Club’s mission as a community betterment 501(c) 3 organization, the Windsor Garden Club Officers Group, in July of 2016, established a grant of up to $500 per semester (Fall and Spring) for use at Santa Rosa Junior College, or Sonoma State University, for the benefit of outstanding volunteers in the Town Green Community Garden. This new grant recognizes that by assisting hard working volunteers in our garden community, we are investing in individuals who will also enrich and strengthen the community of Windsor as a whole. North County gardeners are in for a treat: top garden author and web publisher Steve Albert is the speaker at the free Jan. 16 meeting of the Windsor Garden Club. Albert is the author of “The Kitchen Garden Grower’s Guide,” a vegetable and herb growing encyclopedia which has ranked among Amazon’s top vegetable gardening books. An updated 10th anniversary edition of the book will be published this year.
