2023 Events Calendar

Most all of our events are free and open to anyone who wants to learn more about gardening, the environment in Sonoma County, nature, flowers, vegetables and plants.

September


Sept. 4 – Monday. Labor Day Holiday.


Sept. 9 – Saturday. 2nd Saturday Spruce-up, 10 AM - 1 PM, Town Green Community Garden. Come visit Windsor's community garden, meet the gardeners, and help spruce up the common areas of the garden if you'd like. Corner, Windsor Road and Joe Rodota Drive next to the Windsor Town Hall.

 

Sept. 15 - Thursday. Kickoff for the Great Succulent Pumpkin Sale! 

NEW! Workshop Date is Oct 21!
This year, Windsor Garden Club will
offer a workshop where participants can build their own succulent pumpkin with help from WGC floral pros. WGC will provide the pumpkins, succulents, and embellishment items (acorns, rose hips, berries, etc.) and experienced decoraters to help you build the pumpkins of your dreams. Pick a pumpkin that calls to you, and decorate away!

Ticket purchase will pay for your pumpkin and materials. Ticket prices are $35 for WGC members, and $50 for non-members.

NEW! Made to Order Succulent Pumpkins! Minimum Order = 10 Pumpkins

WGC will create a limited number of succulent pumpkins for special orders for businesses and other customers. Minimum special order is 10 medium pumpkins at $30 each, for a total of $300.

Email  officers@windsorgardenclub.org to ask about bulk orders before Oct. 1.

Windsor Garden Club's Succulent Pumpkin workshop and sale is the big annual fundraiser for the nonprofit club. Proceeds help pay for the cost of operating the Town Green Community Garden, as well as garden and education projects around Windsor.

Oct. 21 -  Saturday, 11 a.m., Succulent Pumpkin Workshop. Tickets are $35 for Windsor Garden Club members, $50 for non-members, and include one medium pumpkin, succulents, embellishments and all other supplies. Limited to 20 participants. Location is a Windsor Garden Club member's home garden, and will be emailed upon ticket purchase. Build your own succulent pumpkin with help from WGC floral pros. Oct. 28 – Saturday. Town Green Community Garden Autumn Open House, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Curious about the Community Garden? Want to learn some tips for success in your own raised bed or organic organic garden? Just like wandering gardens? Come on by. Corner, Windsor Road and Joe Rodota Drive next to the Windsor Town Hall.


November


Nov. 10 – Friday. Veterans Day Holiday. Veterans Day is Saturday Nov. 11.

Nov. 25 - Saturday. Charlie Brown Christmas Tree Grove Decorating Day. Help decorate the Windsor Garden Club tree!

Dec. 2 - Saturday. Holiday Wreath Making Workshop!

A Town of Windsor Favorite! Learn how to make a beautiful fresh holiday wreath for your door in a workshop led by designer Mary Robledo of Flourish by Design. Ticket price will be $35 for WGC members, $45 for non-members. Space is limited to 22 people. Tickets will be available on the WGC website Nov. 1, and also via the WGC enewsletter the first week of November. Check back on this page for more details and link the first week of November!

Jan. 2 - Waitlist Opens, Town Green Community Garden. Do you want to rent a bed in the Windsor Town Green Community Garden? The 2023 Bed Rental season opens today. To get on the waiting list for a garden bed, email officers@windsorgardenclub.org with your name and contact info to get on our waiting list.


February

General: Community Gardeners on the Waiting List: you'll be notified if you can get a space in the Town Green Community Garden in 2023!

Bring a hat, your gloves, water, and your favorite garden tool and spend some time working with fellow gardeners to maintain the common areas of the garden. (Weeding or raking pathways between the beds, cleaning birdbaths, tidying the greenhouse, washing the solar panels...anything that needs sprucing up.) All Community Garden plot renters are required to put in 6 hours a calendar year (about a half-hour a month) volunteering to maintain the common areas.

 

Garden lovers, friends and family always welcome! You can help out if you sign the Town of Windsor Liability Waiver. Check in with Second Saturday Garden Leaders about the waiver, and tasks needed this month.
