The UC Master Gardeners present Sonoma County Master Gardener Suzanne Clarke. How similar or different are these two members of the Lepidoptera species? Learn to identify the curious differences and peculiar similarities between butterflies and moths, and to understand the plants they need to survive and thrive. In addition, gain knowledge about the threats endangering these precious iconic insects and what home gardeners can do to help insure they will survive for future generations. 

Registration Required: After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about attending the library talk.

Afterwards, Windsor Garden Club will be making dormant chunks of narrowleaf milkweed available.

Presented by Baldo Villegas, former Entomologist/Senior Environmental Research Scientist at California State Dept of Food and Agriculture. Mr. Villegas is a wealth of information. He will educate about the most common rose diseases and pests and will give you tips and tricks on how to avoid these bad bugs, and encourage good bugs, for a healthy and vibrant rose garden. (Weeding or raking pathways between the beds, cleaning birdbaths, tidying the greenhouse, washing the solar panels...anything that needs sprucing up.) All Community Garden plot renters are required to put in 6 hours a calendar year (about a half-hour a month) volunteering to maintain the common areas.

Garden lovers, friends and family always welcome! You can help out if you sign the Town of Windsor Liability Waiver. Check in with Second Saturday Garden Leaders about the waiver, and tasks needed this month.

Celebrate Earth Day by coming to Open Garden Hours at the Town Green Community Garden. Enjoy children's activities, wander the organic garden for inspiration, ask questions of Sonoma County Master Gardeners. The garden is located at the corner of Windsor Road and Joe Rodota Way.

Join the Friends of the Food Forest at Robbins Park for a spring spruce-up. The small group will spread mulch and tend to the fruit trees at the park, and would like some help. While you're there, learn about the Robbins Park Food Forest, which was established in April 2012.

A Town of Windsor Favorite! Learn how to make a beautiful fresh holiday wreath for your door in a workshop led by designer Mary Robledo of Flourish by Design. Ticket price will be $35 for WGC members, $45 for non-members. Space is limited to 22 people.
