Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Bulbs Sept. 9

The Windsor Garden Club is hosting a free presentation by Bill the Bulb Baron at the Windsor Senior Center Monday, Sept. 9. The evening begins with refreshments at 6:30 p.m. Presentation begins at 6:45 p.m. The Bulb Baron is horticulturalist William Welch of Santa Cruz.

Welch will discuss raising flowers from bulbs, from the commonly known to the exotic. He grows and sells them from his farm in Moss Landing. He likes to say he offers bulbs for "brown thumbs" -- gardeners who want to plant things and then forget about them. Many bulbs, he says, are as easy to grow as weeds. Welch will be selling bulbs after the event.
